Montrachet is an Appellation d’origine contrôlée (AOC) and Grand Cru vineyard for white wine made of Chardonnay in the Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy.
Moreover, the vineyard straddles the border between the two communes of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet
Notably, it produces what many consider to be the greatest dry white wine in the world.
Interestingly, four other Grand Cru vineyards surround it, all having “Montrachet” as part of their names.
Many generally consider Montrachet superior to its four Grand Cru neighbours, and this reflects in its higher price.
DRC Montrachet 1993
The 1993 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC) Montrachet Grand Cru producers crafted an ultra-rare, legendary dry white Burgundy made from 100% Chardonnay.
Winemakers sourced it from a tiny, iconic plot within the Montrachet vineyard spanning the Côte de Beaune, and wine critics widely regard it as one of the most powerful, complex, and collectable white wines in the world.
The winery released only 3,535 bottles of DRC Montrachet 1993.

Older bottles often show signs of age, such as slightly damaged capsules and/or scuffed or damp-stained labels.
In fact, this is perfectly normal and does not mean that the wine is faulty or damaged, or that the bottle is a counterfeit or fake.
Moreover, buying from a reputable specialist merchant like Arden Fine Wines guarantees the best quality.
