Since Job Bearsley founded Taylor’s in 1692, the company has remained independent.

Currently, now thriving well into its fourth century, Taylor’s has established itself as one of the world’s most respected and historic wine houses.

The story begins in 1692 when, notably, an English merchant named Job Bearsley arrived in Portugal.

Little is known about the firm’s founder.

However, it is known that he owned The Ram Inn in London’s Smithfield.

Additionally, his family held land in Warwickshire and Staffordshire.

Moreover, Joseph Taylor, who subsequently gave the firm its current name, played a crucial role in its history.

In particular, his leadership bridged the gap between the Bearsley era and the arrival of the Yeatmans, whose descendants now own and operate the company.

In 1836, for example, John Fladgate became the first of the new partners to move to Oporto.

Then, two years later, in 1838, John Fladgate and Morgan Yeatman signed a partnership deed in Oporto.

Following this, consequently, the firm adopted its present name: Taylor Fladgate & Yeatman.

Taylor’s Very Old Single Harvest Port 1966 – Wine for a 60th birthday

Taylor’s extensive cask-aged reserves feature a collection of very rare and valuable Single Harvest Ports.

In contrast, unlike Vintage Ports, which age in bottles, Single Harvest Ports come from a single year and age in seasoned oak casks.

Furthermore, you’ll find the harvest date displayed on the label.

Additionally, these wonderfully mellow, complex wines have reached full maturity and are ready to drink upon bottling.

Consequently, they make the perfect choice for celebrating a 60th anniversary or birthday, beautifully presented in attractive wooden gift boxes.
