DRC La Tâche 1991

The 1991 vintage in Burgundy produced underrated wines.

Winemakers produced exceptionally structured and aromatic wines that have aged beautifully over more than three decades.

The DRC La Tâche 1991 presents an incredibly complex nose of sweet dark berries, truffles, leather, game, smoky darkness, and rich spices.

The palate offers perfect balance, crisp acidity, polished tannins, and a long, warming finish with hints of toasted coffee beans.

It dazzles with elegance and densely fruited notes of knock-out aromas of spice, dried rose petals, clove, anise and black pepper that follow somewhat austere, rich, concentrated and gorgeously textured flavours that exude a fine minerality on the wonderfully long finish.

The intensity here is really something to experience and the overall impression conveys class and refinement.

It’s worth pointing out that this is sufficiently close to its peak that we could approach it now with an hour’s worth of air but well-stored examples will still remain with us 50 years from now.

In total, DRC crafted 17,137 bottles of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche 1991.

Would you like to compare this vintage to another great year for La Tâche, such as 1971 or 1978?

Are you, on the other hand, looking to purchase a bottle for a specific occasion, or are you, alternatively, researching the tasting history of this particular vintage?

Furthermore, older bottles often show signs of age, such as slightly damaged capsules and/or scuffed or damp-stained labels.

However, this is perfectly normal and does not mean that the wine is faulty or damaged, nor that the bottle is a counterfeit or fake.

Ultimately, when you buy from a reputable specialist merchant like Arden Fine Wines, you guarantee the best quality.
