Montrachet is an Appellation d’origine contrĂ´lĂ©e (AOC) and Grand Cru vineyard for white wine made of Chardonnay in the CĂ´te de Beaune subregion of Burgundy.

Moreover, the vineyard straddles the border between the two communes of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet

Notably, it produces what many consider to be the greatest dry white wine in the world.

Interestingly, four other Grand Cru vineyards surround it, all having “Montrachet” as part of their names.

Many generally consider Montrachet superior to its four Grand Cru neighbours, and this reflects in its higher price.

DRC Montrachet 1983

This particular vintage is exceptionally rich and full-bodied with an immense palate feel.

It blends notes of lemon, honey, and apricot with sharp mineral textures and a powerful, dry-extract coating.

The winery released only 3,586 bottles of DRC Montrachet 1983.

Older bottles often show signs of age, such as slightly damaged capsules and/or scuffed or damp-stained labels.

In fact, this is perfectly normal and does not mean that the wine is faulty or damaged, or that the bottle is a counterfeit or fake.

Moreover, buying from a reputable specialist merchant like Arden Fine Wines guarantees the best quality.
