DRC La Tâche 1976
The 1976 Burgundy growing season was exceptionally hot, resulting in early ripening and thick grape skins.
This gave the wines higher tannins and distinct acidity compared to other, cooler years.
Produced entirely from Pinot Noir in the legendary Vosne-Romanée appellation, this DRC La Tâche 1976 was shaped by a famously hot, dry summer that resulted in deeply concentrated, savoury wines.
Mature bottles like this exhibit a complex, savoury bouquet of rose, red currant, truffle, and baking spices.
The palate is medium-bodied, smooth and sensual in texture with a fine bead of acidity.
For the vintage this has lasted very well and though it will not improve, it should hold in there for another few years before gently fading.
In total, DRC crafted 25,384 bottles of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche 1976.
Would you like to compare this vintage to another great year for La Tâche, such as 1971 or 1978?
Are you, on the other hand, looking to purchase a bottle for a specific occasion, or are you, alternatively, researching the tasting history of this particular vintage?
Furthermore, older bottles often show signs of age, such as slightly damaged capsules and/or scuffed or damp-stained labels.
However, this is perfectly normal and does not mean that the wine is faulty or damaged, nor that the bottle is a counterfeit or fake.
Ultimately, when you buy from a reputable specialist merchant like Arden Fine Wines, you guarantee the best quality.
