- A mild winter caused the Merlot grapes to break bud early on 20 March.
- The vines reached full bloom on 1 June, which advanced the timeline by about ten days.
- Although the early summer was rather sullen, hot and sunny weather in August accelerated ripening and thickened the grapes’ skins.
- Vineyard workers conducted green harvests from 19 July to 10 August.
- Rain began on 9 September and continued with showers throughout most of the harvest period from 22 September to 6 October.
- Fortunately, the grapes’ thick skins resisted rot and dilution.
Château Latour 1994 was a satisfactory result despite difficult weather conditions.
