Interestingly, by 1714 a barrel of Latour commanded a price four to five times higher than typical Bordeaux wine.
By 1729, the price ratio increased to thirteen, and by 1767, it reached twenty.
Wine enthusiasts had already established Château Latour’s reputation.
As trade flourished, the estate gradually specialised in wine production.
Subsequently, it expanded to 38 hectares of vines in 1759.

Château Latour exclusively uses “vieilles vignes” (old vines).
These vines average 60-years old in the Enclos, Gravettes, Sarmentier, and Pièce de Château vineyards.

Château Latour also demonstrates the ability to produce fine wines even in challenging years.

Subsequently it started raining again, temperatures dropped, and as a result, rot began to develop.
Ultimately, the harvest took place in fine weather from 4–16 October.
However, Château Latour 1965 has not improved much since…
