Château Latour exclusively uses “vieilles vignes” (old vines).
These vines have an average of 60 years-old in the “Enclos”, which contains the Gravettes, Sarmentier, and Pièce de Château vineyards.
The heart of the Enclos is the only terroir that, every year, produces the concentration that we expect of Château Latour.
Here, the Cabernet Sauvignon (accounting for more than 90% of the blend) achieves optimal expression.
2002 red wine for sale – Château Latour 2002
The 2002 Château Latour is widely considered the wine of the vintage in Bordeaux.
It is an exceptional and powerful expression of Pauillac that defies the vintage’s challenging conditions.
Latour 2002 a full-bodied red wine, primarily Cabernet Sauvignon.
- Rain was lacking from November to April and by mid-April there was a drought situation.
- Then there was substantial rain in May and low temperatures.
- Later, the summer began with a hot, dry June but was then punctuated by a series of storms.
- Subsequently, in August the sky was frequently overcast and temperatures were cool.
- The situation in early September was very variable. From to September the weather was exceptionally sunny, dry and windy: a real “Indian summer”.
- This meant that the harvests were particularly late that year, beginning on 25 September and ending on 17 October.
- Overall, all the analyses confirmed a high concentration of sugars and the vintage’s excellent potential.
The blending achieved a good level of acidity in Château Latour 2002.
Moreover, this added a sensation of power to the aromatic complexity and body of Château Latour 2002.
In addition, the style of Château Latour 2002 features fruit, finesse, and elegance.
Furthermore, the palate offers a full-bodied experience, with a solid core of ripe fruit and chewy tannins – a classic Latour needing bottle age.
Finally, Arden Fine Wines sells this 2002 red wine – Château Latour 2002.
