Chateau Musar produces the 1956 Chateau Musar wine, a red vintage wine from the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon.

Moreover, the renowned winery is known for its unique style and long aging process.

In fact, Serge Hochar assisted his father at the winery, where he realized he had a natural skill for winemaking.

Additionally, he blended the Chateau Musar White 1954 and was involved with winemaking in the subsequent years.

However, Gaston Hochar did not hand over complete control until 1959, when his son Serge bottled this vintage.

Wine experts consider the 1956 vintage to be an exceptional year for Chateau Musar.

Moreover, balanced acidity, refined tannins, and complex flavours characterise it.

In addition, the blend includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, and Carignan, with each grape variety bringing its own characteristics to the wine.

Furthermore, tasters often describe the 1956 Chateau Musar as having a rich and velvety texture, with notes of dark fruits such as blackberries, plums, and blackcurrants.

Consequently, its age has caused the 1956 Chateau Musar to evolve and integrate its flavours, resulting in a mature and harmonious wine.

Therefore, experts recommend decanting the wine before serving to allow it to breathe and fully express its aroma.

“His 1956 will always be a great wine.

A great vintage with typical Musar characteristics.

Beautiful dark brick colour.

The nose showcases a superb nose of heavy nuts and an almost dried hazelnut paste aroma with complex scents of old cedar.

This wine perfectly balances on the palate, offering a richness to both body and soul.

While it delivers a long and lingering silky flavour, it still feels extremely youthful.

My kind of wine!”
