Arden Fine Wines has recently begun to work with Mattereum, the London-based technology start-up that creates digital identities for physical goods.
The Mattereum Asset Passport uses blockchain technology to help buyers, sellers, and experts work together to create a doubt-free environment for trade in luxury goods, art and antiques, and other items – like fine wine – where authenticity means everything.
The Mattereum Asset Passport is a third-party verified digital identity for physical things stored on the blockchain. It rewards truth in trade by incentivising good information and compensating victims of bad information.
Arden’s first Mattereum Asset Passport is for a bottle of Tokaji Aszú 1931 produced by the estate of Count Bertalan Széchényi.
